Sealing scratch art - what is the cheapest option?

I have used some scratch art kits to make invitations for my DD's party, but have realised in the process quite how fragile and easily scratched they are. Is there a way (ideally without buying expensive spray varnish) of sealing them so that the party information doesn't disappear under little fingernails before they even get home? Would PVA glue work, for example?

TIA

No, it won't work, neither the spray, if the children play with it, that's it. What I would suggest is to write "for any questions about xxxx party please ring xxxxxxxxx) at the back of the invitation so parents can ring you if the card is so damaged they cannot read it. And also, put them in envelopes

I would get a thin sheet of Perspex, like OHP paper, or some other transparent plastic, and fasten it over the top with brads or paper fasteners, or ribbon.

OK, Thank you MN for saving me time, effort and money.

I like both your ideas - I will put a 'phone number on the back, and dig in the dusty reaches of some stationery cupboards to see if there are any OHP slides hiding anywhere. School do at least put invitations into book bags, so there is a reasonable chance that there will be a parent present when any given child opens and precedes to destroy the invitation, so most should at least get a glimpse of the content Grin.
