inspiration for using a Jelly roll

Never used one and have been given one in fabulous bright colours. Fairly confident quilter, and patchworker, amongst other things. Can someone recommend a project that will be a bit different and look fabulous with all the bright vibrant colours?

I really like this idea but have yet to do it. You start off by sewing all the strips together in one big long strip ......

I clicked on this link not knowing what a jelly roll was..... That modabakeshop site is dangerous! I might have to give quilting a go now!

Ah whenwill i knew I had seen some good projects somewhere ages ago.

tricot This website is the reason why I decided to get my jelly roll. I agree it is dangerous. A lot of fun though!

How about doing something like this, OP?

NewStartSameStory · 12/09/2012 15:39

Fabulous project, very bright. might make something like this as a gift at some point. Have no where to store or even use something like that atm.
Must sort out a pin interest account so can keep a track of all the ideas.

There are some great books on quilting with jelly rolls. Quilt blocks that would lend themselves to this sort of fabric would be log cabins and all the myriad variations thereof. By making the blocks with the 2.5" strips, they'd be quite big and would grow quickly and you'd soon have enough for a reasonable size quilt. Don't forget something like a piano key binding too would look good.
