Hello

Have just learned to knit thanks to DD dragging me to an iKnit tent at festival recently and have been looking online for some good tutorials/demos to advance my skills (which at the moment are limited to casting on and various combinations of knit and purl - ribbing, stockingstitch etc).

Have googled and found some youtube videos but they're very hit and miss... Can anyone recommend where I can find some easy to follow tutorials?

Thanks!

If you do want to do a paid-for online course, I can recommend KnitFreedom.

Most knitting of course is just combinations of purls and knit stitches so you're well on your way. If you want a small project to get you started, we are running one of the Woolly Hugs projects right now. Otherwise Ravelry is the place to go for any kind of pattern you could possibly want. You may need to create an account before you can follow these links, but I often recommend the windmill bag as a fab first project. Or take a look through Frankie's knitted stuff - Frankie Brown cranks out new fun patterns (often for small-but-handy things) like no-one else!

No probs saralyn :) When I first started knitting again I did a couple of very small Frankie projects as a fab way of getting back into it with something not too intimidating. I'm thinking about doing her advent garland - are we allowed to say that as it is already September in some parts of the world?

He, he, i remember when living in England that the Christmas stuff came out in the shops in September, but it's a bit early for me. However, when you are making ting Christmas presents you do need to start early.
