And it's fab - MUCH better than shop-bought stuff, of course Wink

Feeling very virtuous now.

Yes falling asleep in their playdough - leaving me to enjoy a coffee and my newspaper sounds great actually!

Thanks dinny I have awhile to wait DS is only 9wks but I'm going to try it out anyway I'm excited Blush. I shall keep the recipe though also. Thanks Smile

Any kind of oil makes great playough but replace some of the oil from the recipe so as not to get too much. Great smells can be created.

Ok prepare to be adddicted to playdough!!! I also add custard powder in place of some of the flour, coffee or hot chocolate powder (seriously yummy), add quickgel or any sort of spices e.g. paprika, cinamon, ginger.

Glitter always makes it super special too - as does adding oats to give it texture.

AND to top it all off - if you use boiling water you can do it all in the microwave too - no messy saucepan to wash. Just mix the colouring with the boiling water, then mix into the flour and salt and oil. Then microwave for about a minute at a time stiringa nd then repeating until it is all in one ball - pop it on the worktop and give it a good roll - the best bit!

Sorry to crash your post

Happy playdough making!!!!

I don't even microwave it! Just combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl, add oil and boiling water and stir a lot, then knead well for 5 mins or so as soon as cool enough to handle - LO's can do this bit! Keeps as well as cooked dough ime.

Thanks dinny, we made a lovely batch of pink dough this afternoon supereasy and I added some neroli essential oil - smells lovely :)

We don't even keep ours in the fridge and it lasts for ever.

oh good - glad you liked it, Treacletart. My friend just keeps hers in a tight-sealed polythene bag and her last batch kept for a year.

am seriously considering making some glittery stuff very soon, lol.
