Cork to make pin board

I'm planning on making a fabric-covered pin board for my kitchen. I would like to make it to very specific measurements so that it sits within the frame of the inside of one of our doors. Would the cork that you buy on a roll work? Or should I buy cork flooring tiles? Does anyone have any tips??

When I made one I used a cork notice board from one of the pound type shops.

I dont see why cork tiles wouldn't work if you need to make it to a specific size

I used cork floor tiles to make a pin board on the inside of the cupboard doors of a built in cupboard & they worked fine. The only thing to look at is to make sure you get thick enough ones, some of them are very thin & there might not be enough "depth" for the pins to hold, (I think mine were 5mm)

You could always glue two sets together if you can only find thin ones ~ especially if you're going to cover them with fabric anyway?

Thank you so much for your comments. I think I'll look to get some cork tiles. Ooh.
I'm unreasonably excited about being able to tidy up a load of our paperwork!

I made a big self painted cork wall for DD top pin her artwork onto - I used floor tiles, but they were too thin, so I ended up trebling up so that its nice & spongey & takes DDs bashing pins in & out of it - its still holding strong, paint & all 2 years later :)
