Knitting Project: Confused about finishing instructions

I'm currently knitting a waistcoat which has no formal rib, the neck line and armholes are defined by garter stitches. The finishing instructions say to sew the seams and then to sew in outer loops of stitches. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this means?

Have you got the pattern anywhere? Is it on Ravelry? I must say I don't understand what it means, but maybe looking at the picture we might get a clue.

it's from Garnstudio pattern 120-21

I have to say that I have knitted the back and one side, they are attached and I don't see any loops to sew. I wondered if it related to the raw neck edge on the back???

just reading it again, I wonder if it's a method for sewing the side seams?

Yes you are right. I have had a look at the pattern and it says:
Sew side seams - sew in outer loops of sts. Not sew side seams then sew in outer loops of stitches. The way you do the side seams is by using the outer loops of the stitches.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. There are a lot of finishing techniques I'm not familiar with. When I was taught to knit over 30 years ago, I was shown to backstitch or overstitch depending on the seam.

I think this is more like overstitch than backstitch.
