How to make bunting fast, with no sewing machine!

Brother is getting married shortly and for a wedding present he has asked guests to provide a bit of bunting, - yeah - I have no idea what for.....

Anyway, I neither own nor can work a sewing machine. Are there any short cuts that mean me and the kids can contribute somehow?

possibly, I found mine in the range, if you have one near you?

NorksAreMessy · 20/05/2012 00:12

How close are you starlight , I could do a tutorial?
Surely if you supplied all the very deep and meaningful fabric?....

Anyhoo, if you get stuck, I am here to help.

Try this for a easy guide bunting

my sil made us bunting for our wedding - triangles of cotton fabric and bias binding tape - fold the tape over the top edge and glue (think bostik or uhu)

or
Wink
(free bunting with order over £50)

Baker Ross (can't do links on silly phone, but Google it) - they might have kits, but failing that fabric glue and assorted sticky-on stuff, and fabric paint/pens - get white fabric and pinking shears, let the DC loose, and then assemble the ones that survive you like best.

Would it beneasy to snip holes in each of the tops cornersof thetriangles, then just thread the ribbon through? This would save glueing or ironing.

stealthsquiggle · 22/05/2012 14:23

aha they do have kits. Loads of fun to be had.

If you have The Range near you, I bought a bunting kit, made out of thick card with scalloped edges, the children could have a whale of a time sticking, drawing and painting on that.

rockinhippy · 23/05/2012 12:14

you need?
1
/2 wide decent quality ribbon - long triangles cut with pinking shears - stapler

make it even more personal by letting your DCs "design" the fabric by letting them loose on some plain pale coloured cloth, with either fabric paint or makers -

maybe alternate the DCs printed flags with a contrast print such as a gingham or a plain & simply staple them to the ribbon

Jobe done :)
