Advice needed on crochet border around knitted top

I've just finished knitting this top.

There is a border around the bottom completed in crochet, which I didn't like because it seems rather overstated for the top. I found a pattern for a picot border (1st row: dc into each stitch, 2nd row: dc 3 chain and dc into every other dc from previous row)

This looks much better but I've ended up with a 'frilly edge' Shock. I believe I need to undo and redo but how? Should my first row maybe be a dc into every other stitch? Would that work?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

If you're picoting, I prefer "dc ch2 sl st into same st". It gives a nice neat point.

If you're keeping things simple, a couple of rows of dc is fine :)

Thanks PurplePidjin, I undid the crochet and started again. My first row of DC I limited to every other stitch and this took away the 'frilliness'. I'm only just reviving my crochet skills and wasn't sure how to tackle it... I'll take note of your picot, I'm sure it won't be the last time I'm looking for a finishing border.
