Can anyone explain this fabric to me; I can't get my head round it?

it's here

How would you cut it - if it's beaded will it all fall apart?

How would you sew it?

What scale is it?

I'm fascinated but I'm not sure what you could use it for

So nosy Blush

I'd hazard a guess that it would lose beads close to where you cut; you'd have to bind the edges in fabric maybe?? and then sew through the binding - or layer it with another fabric and stitch the edges into a French seam?

That sounds really complicated

It is pretty though

I'd shy away from these types of cloth unless you are very a experienced seamstress - they are pretty, but a headache & require a lot of extra work & often need to be hand sewn - though you can often get away with part machine if you follow a few rules

Cutting - You need to lay out & mark around your pattern, then lift your pattern without cutting - you then need to secure the bead clusters .5cm in from where your seam will be - as said above, they will unravel, doing this helps stop it - you can then cut, but take care & go slow cutting through bead clusters as can throw your scissors or blade & not be true to pattern.

Sewing - you need to pull beads off away from seam line where you can - this makes sewing easier & also avoids bulking uncomfortable to wear seems - you can then sew using a zipper foot to get you closer to the beading - some designs you will have to hand sew seams, at least in part near to beading

Seams - Typo Gremlins at it again Hmm

If its for a bodice or something, I would rather sit & actually bead the garment myself than work with these cloths, they are pretty, but a first class PITA & a lot of money to waste if it goes wrong

I forgot - as said above, you should bind seams too

& for scale - look at the beads - they are seed beads, so that should give you something to work the size from - I'd guess the main pattern is 10p ish sized

I'm doing a much stupider easier project over here
