Just posted up a tutorial for a log cabin / cathedral steps quilted cushion, if you have never quilted before, it is a super way to start and will take a morning or afternoon to complete. I will be giving the cushion away to one of posters who comments on the tutorial, winner will be announced on the blog next Sunday.

LatteLady The log cabin cushion is lovely, another one to add to my "projects to do" list. (Are you the MNer that has a yarn shop?)

I have just found your cathedral window tutorial, and it's brilliant, loads better than the one I was working from. I wonder if I might pick your brain a little? I've just started doing cathedral windows for the first time, and the outer corners on my squares aren't sharp. There is sometimes a bit of a gap where two of the triangles that are folded in don't quite meet, making a tiny fifth side to my "square." (Does that make sense?)

I am wondering if this will make my finished work look rubbish, or if it'll all be ok once stitched together. I am a perfectionist, and this is a gift for someone, I can never settle for work that looks like it could be better.

Also, would you stitch all your backing together and then add the panels of contrasting fabric, or would you complete your squares before stitching them together?

Thanks a lot, and sorry for the thread hijack!
