Just thinking about ideas for dd's party and fancied doing something with clay.
It would be nice to make something and then paint it but dont know if that's possible cos of leaving the clay to dry etc just wondered if anyone knew of any fast drying clay or some way round this? TIA

Great links there thanking been looking but they dont say how long they take to dry, I looked at another type of air drying clay but it took 24 hours to dry, I hoping for something like an hour! But think maybe I'm asking too much, lol!

They usually take at least 24 hours, but depending on the bulkiness maybe longer.

Best option would be fimo. They could cut the shapes out with cookie cutters and then you could bake in the oven until they are hardened up. If you remember to punch a hole with a knitting needle or skewer they can be threaded onto a lace or ribbon for a necklace.

You can varnish quite quickly as well. spray varnish works well for large quantities - make sure room is well ventilated. Or a cheap tin of varnish from a DIY store.

You can buy some basic plain colours and once baked use a sharpie to write/draw on them.

A great way to make a charm bracelet is to have a cotton/leather thong, tie an overhand knot thread on a charm tie another overhand knot, securing the charm and keep going leaving gaps inbetween.

Have done this with 90 brownies in an afternoon. As long as you've got your oven going and timers to tell you when it's done you should be ok :)
