Paper mache letters and numbers

Was looking at buying these until I saw how easy they seem to make. I wanted to make some for/with my daughter to help with learning her numbers and alphabet. Another reason for making them is that I can not find lowercase letters anywhere. Will I be ok making them is it easy?

Really really easy. If you are naff at free hand, choose a pretty font and make it big enough that you can print on one page. glue to cardboard, cut.

If you just want a not too bulky one, a couple of layers of newspaper will be enough. You can also just cover with fabric with some wadding below [makes a nice puffed letter]. Or you can cut two letters and pad out the middle with scrunched newspaper and seal the edge with masking tape and then layer the newspaper on.

Rather than paper mache you can just buy some greyboard from a craft store.

This stuff is what they make those hard page children's books from among many other things and it comes in many thickness's.

About 1250 microns should be enough for your task. You can just draw your letters and numbers on it and embellish them as you wish. To cut them out will require proper heavy scissors though.
