I'm now the proud owner of a Brother X5 (only £82) in Argos and have spent the afternoon playing around with it.

I'm keen to start on some small projects and wondered if you'd care to share your favourite websites with me.

No project suggestions, but would recommend Fabricland for cheap, but great fabrics! If you can get past the terrible website mind. However, the service over the phone when you order is great and the fabric is delivered really fast Grin

I too have a Brother X-5 which I got last year and I've been hooked ever since. I've started my own blog predominantly about crafting (with free tutorials) ~ have a look and see if there's anything you might like to try.

YY to Fabricland. Luckily I have one nearby so get most of my fabric from there.

Thanks for that suggestion, Eddie, I will go and have a look later. I have a few remnants to practice on but need some new material for a couple of projects I have in mind - a scottie dog draught excluder and a new apron. I've also got some ideas for Christmas decorations. Nice easy things to begin with. Smile

Flubba, I love your blog. I've bookmarked it to see what you get up to in future. Wink The wigwam tent is fab, I might have a go and make that for our book corner at school. I adore those little trousers with the patchwork car. I can't wait to use all the additional stitches once I've mastered the basics.

Thank you Blush. I made lots of little aprons for the kids and nieces etc for Christmas, they were dead easy (although making the straps was a bit of a faff) and look lovely.

Thank you Hatti, they are great sites. I've bookmarked them too. Some great ideas for a beginner.

I like www.burdastyle.com/ because you can search the patterns by ability, category etc etc..
