I wish to transfer my images onto T-Shirts for my dc.

Can anyone recommend a good quality transfer paper?

I've just bought some from Amazon to transfer images onto some aprons. I've not tried it yet but it should be here soon and I can report back...?

That would be great Blatherskite, thank you Smile

This is the one I've got. Should be here on Tuesday according to the estimate. I'll let you know how it goes

That's a good price! Hopefully it will works well.

I bought this book which has some lovely rhymes in it.

DD1 (4yo) is very into the antics of Annie Rose and Alfie atm, so I thought I could print some of the images and maybe some of the short verses onto the front of T-shirts. She would think they were amazing! Just wondering how they would hold up in the wash, don't want to get her excited to pull it out of the washing machine all ruined - that would not go down well!

I'm making personalised aprons for DS's pizza making 5th birthday party. I've got some plain aprons from Baker Ross and will be using the paper to print names and a picture of some pizza onto each one.

That's a great birthday idea Blatherskite, might steal that for dd1's 5th birthday, dd1 loves making a pizza!

Also makes the makes the party food itself nice and easy. Perfect!

Yes, it'd be an easy one to do at home. Give each child a pizza base (either homemade or bought) and lay out lots of bowls filled with sauce, cheese and toppings. They'll spend the first half of the party making pizzas, do a simple activity while the pizzas cook (we're doing badge making) and then give them all ice cream for dessert.

Our house is a bit small for getting lots of children in so I'm doing the even lazier version and paying Pizza Express to do the pizza making bit and the tidying up afterwards for me :) All I'm taking is the cake (which I'm also going to make look like a pizza), the badge bits and the party bags.

For the bags I've got some reusable pizza sticker books, a jelly pizza, a slice of cake and maybe a slice of chocolate pizza and the aprons. Any pizza they don't eat will go in a little pizza box to take home too.

Hopefully, it'll be lots of fun

Transfer paper has arrived! Will try to have a go over the weekend

I use the PHEONIX T-Shirt Transfers a lot & have always found the Light colour fabric ones very good & wash well too, I have tried the dark ones but found them to be a PITA, I get mine from UKDVDR & find them good on delivery & price, but you can find them elsewhere too

I tend to make my own transfer paper. It's nothing more than 300+ thread cotton and freezer paper.

The backing melts the plastic a little to make the adhesion bond with the fabric. As long as you use proper materials depending on if you have a laser or inkjet printer you'll be fine.

I've had tonsillitis this week so not had chance to try the transfers yet. Just bumping before the thread falls off the bottom of my active threads.

I've never heard of freezer paper. What is it?

DharmaBumpkin · 16/02/2012 21:48

Thanks for bumping! jhsm2, I would love to know more about what you do and how etc... Would you mind elaborating?

Thanks!

I found freezer paper on Amazon. Not sure what the difference is other than price.

I used this to turn plain vests and t-shirts into costumes for my school play in November. It worked brilliantly.
