Christmas pj's of old-what can I make with them?

Dc have new pjs each Christmas and being a sentimental fool I would like to make something out of them to remind me of them in years to come. But most are jersey and I e just read its not great for quilting. What else could I make? Want to include pieces from several pairs.

This lady makes stuffed toys out of pj's and growsuits. Could do similar if you're feeling up to it?

Oh-they are just gorgeous! I might look into patterns-or keep the pjs til dd leave home and I finally have time!!

They're amaaaazing! I've been keeping bits and pieces of DDs clothes since they were small - both managed to wear out loads and had lots with nice bits of embroidery etc on - that I'm loosely planning on making into a blanket/cushion cover or something. I was wondering whether you can stick jersey onto bondaweb type stuff to make it unstretchy and use it that way???

Plip...You need interfacing, not bondaweb. That will stabilise it for you, should be ok I think. You're meant to sew jersey with a ballpoint needle so it doesn't "run" and get holes in it, but probably ok with a normal one if you've stabilised it.

Add some interfacing and you could make all sorts

Fabric Christmas Trees

Star Decoration

Pyjama legs could easily be fashioned into wine gifty bags

Use the fabric to quilt a Christmas table runner

Thanks SewCrafty, really good to know (for when I eventually get round to it!!)

i am just going to go for it & make a quilt with my kids Christmas PJs.

I attempted my first ever project with a knit fabric - a tee shirt from a really fab book called "sewing for boys" as part of a sew-along on a blog. It was nowhere near as difficult as I imagined. I used special jersey needles and set my machine as per the books instructions, it was a very slight zig-zag. zigzag stitch width 2.5-3.0 long and 1.0-1.5 wide.

I am thinking of having the seams on the outside as the raw edges will curl up so might as well make it a feature than struggle to get them to lay neatly.

oohh those fabric Christmas trees are gorgeous.

Rather than make a patch work quilt with square blocks of fabric why not try crazy patchwork

you can use up all your odds and ends of fabric and it is very forgiving- no matching seams etc
