Knitting book recommendations

Can anyone recommend me a decent book of knitting patterns for babies/toddlers? DM wants one for Xmas, having had 2 grandchildren born this year. She's pretty handy with her needles so doesn't need to be basic or anything. Thanks.

Sirdar / Sublime have good pattern books for tinies. Rowan patterns are more hit and miss. I have some that I love, but they go back a few years and the yarns have been discontinued since - so annoying.
Have a look at ravelry perhaps, there are some knitting for babies forums there that are handy at recommending patterns, and also at suggesting yarn substitutions, if you know your way around. Mostly American knitters but some Brits, Aussies, NZers are ravelry members as well.
Alternatively, if you wander into any wool shop there are bound to be any number of books to browse through.

If you broaden it a little, go with Debbie Bliss's Knitter's Year which is currently £4.99 on the Book People and a real bargain and features a number of booties... otherwise, any other Debbie Bliss, Erica Knight or Sublime :)

Thanks, will have a look. Just having a mooch on amazon. Any views on Zoe Mellor's book?

Sad Debbie bliss book out of stock on book people. Mind you - did I really need another pattern book?

Another vote for the Sublime pattern books from me, they are lovely. Natural Nursery Knits by Erika Knight lovely too, or the simple knits for cherished babies.
Vintage Knits for Modern Babies is lovely too, not knitted anything out of it yet but lots of nice patterns.

Zoe Mellor - I think I had that one from library and wasn't mad about it, but I have her book of bootees patterns which is good fun.

Another vote for Erika Knight. Her patterns are so simple and easy to understand. Debbie Bliss sometimes leaves me behind.

Was the Zoe Mellor one Double Knits? I have that and there are some gorgeous patterns, though in quite a narrow size range IIRC, which means I never actually got round to knitting anything for DD as she grew before I had a chance!

The Flat Cats in the back are delightful, though.

Another vote for Debbie Bliss for sheers ease as well as a good range of sizes. I've got Quick Baby Knits and Baby Style and both have some lovely things in.

Just thought of an excellent Debbie Bliss book - it, Knit it, Babies... cos it has Spanish Dress in it - just whizz down the blog to see a couple I [[made during the Summer. Am intending to make two for the girls round the corner in red cashmerino and black needle cord, I reckon with a red long sleeved t-shirt underneath and red tights the girls will look stunning :)

That is gorgeous Lattelady. Wish I had inherited my mum's crafty talents. I can knit but have to concentrate so hard so as not to cock it up that I find it exhausting!

The Zoe Mellor book is called something like adorable knits for tiny tots. The patterns look quite modern. But love the vintage one too. Decisions, decisions! Will check out Debbie bliss too.
