Where can I get 100% cashmere knitting wool?

I know Rowan did one but I think it has been discontinued. Is there anywhere to buy the ends of yarn from a mill or something like that?

NhameCage - why would you want it? 100% cashmere will be very weak which is why you usually mix it with merino to strengthen it, otherwise you will find that it will, wear, pill and hole very quickly.

Hmm, was thinking that I could do a scarf in 4 ply or something and it would be okay? Have worked with a yarn like this before, it was vintage from my great-grandmother but you are right it did break.

I have tried Cashmerino Aran from Debbie Bliss and although it knits up nicely it is not high enough quality and is itchy to wear on the neck. Don't really want any microfibre/acrylic content either.

Do you have any recommendations?

Colourmart is great, I order from them reasonably often. Sign up to email list for updates.

Thanks for this, I've been looking at Colourmart and it seems perfect, especially as I like to knit in neutrals a lot and find the major knitting yarn producers rainbow of colours a bit limiting. Can't quite work out how it actually works with the numbers thing at the moment. Especially as I'm really no good at working with yards, can only do metric (in common, perhaps, with most of the population under 35 Grin?)

Also, they recommend that you give their wool a hot wash before using it Shock. This is going to take quite a bit of thought I can tell. Any tips for me?

I don't understand the numbers either Grin but google around and you'll find some help.
DON'T hot wash your wool! I think it's oiled for machine knitting, so you can give it a soak in some warmish water plus detergent then rinse to get rid of the oil. Wind it into skeins first then hang it in the shower over a hanger to dry, ball it up and away you go.

Skein queen sometimes have it, and posh yarn have had- I think dee has temporarily lost her supplier though.
