Dingle - The cards arrived safely today and they are beautiful. The one for MIL is so right for her that I'm sure she will be thrilled. Thanks for using the info I gave you to make it especially for her. It's really lovely. They are all very nice, but my other favourite is BIL's. You're so clever. Thanks again.

Hi Ivor! Glad you like them.

The original card I made for your MIL was very similar in design to the one I sent.....but it had snowdrops on! I just had to change it when I found out her name!

Ah! I understand, now! It's really apt.

Out of interest, how did you do the little tag thing on the ribbon? What is it made of and how did you do the flower to go on it and the others on the card? It's so original and the colours are gorgeous. Thanks again.

P.S. I can thoroughly recommend you to my friends but I don't need to as your cards speak for themselves.

Well I cheated on the design itself. I was inspired by some floral designs in a craft mag this month, they were design for glass painting-simple clear cut pictures. Problem was that there wasn't an iris, so I did a bit of searching on the net.
I found a design that I thought would work and drew it freehand using a laundry marker and then watercoloured it.

Did the same design, same size, onto shrink plastic, watercoloured it, cut out and popped in the oven for it to work it's magic!

As for the colours, it just seemed to work so well with the colour of the irises!

Dingle - Ah, right! Now that you've inspired me, I must go and look out the home made Christmas cards that we started making weeks ago so that we do them in time to send out this Christmas. They are very basic in comparison to yours, I know, but family and friends just assume the youngest child has made them! It doesn't work so well now that the kids are growing up! Where does time go?
