Pattern to knit a waterfall type cardigan

VerityBrulee · 21/06/2011 17:39

I want to knit something like this. Any ideas about where I might find a pattern for something similar? I used to be a prolific knitter and am fairly adept at adapting patterns so anything with that general shape would do.
Thanks Smile

I read this as water tight cardigan and clicked thinking you were trying to knit a cardigan to go swimming in or maybe to walk the dogs in the rain.

I'll go now

This one is a bit chunky, but perhaps you could adapt it?

Try looking at the free patterns on Ravelry and Knitting Pattern Central.

Thanks for those links, I'll investigate!

Predictable I'm not intending on going for the Per Una look, more the DKNY version Wink

arf @ per una. that's alot of knitting! will you go for that gauzy effect?

i want a nice lacy round necked cardie pattern, so if you come across one on your travels...

Well, it seems waterfalls are just a long rectangle with two slots for the armholes and the sleeves are 2 more rectangles that fit into the slots. Easy peasy, but your right Predictable it is a lot of knitting. I may think again! Regarding your cardigan, I have bought yarn from this site and you can look in the pattern books if you click on them, you might find something there. It can be like looking for a needle in a haystack!

That Ravelry site is amazing SDTG, there's so much on it, thanks for the link Smile

Have to be honest, unless you are countenancing using a knitting machine, I would think twice about making a waterfall cardie. You are going to be working on fairly fine needles and possibly 3/4 ply which is going to be a lot of fairly tedious stocking stitch.

Glad to see that you love Rav... it is a fab resource.
