... Can you put it through an inkjet printer and what happens to the ink if you do this and then shrink it? Idly wondering if you can print photos on it and then shrink them.

Not tried it with the "ordinary" shrink plastic. I have used Avery's Fantastic Plastic...I think that was what it was called anyway.

You used to be able to get a free sample sheet from the Avery website.

This was from Yellow Moon - I actually bought it for DSs to make keyrings but then I got thinking....

Thanks

Yes I wanted to try things with shrink plastic, bought a sheet & then didn't really know what to do with it - hence its gone in the PIF thread !

SoupDragon · 15/11/2005 21:17

I'll have to try it, obviously! Not sure how many sheets there were in the pack but as DSs don't know I've got it at all, they won't miss it...

Dingle do you heat the plastic with your heat gun or do you use the oven??
Ive never had that much success with it when i have used my heat gun...bloomin stuff blows everywhere and then curls up so much and sticks to its self...how do you use it???

Skribble · 15/11/2005 23:04

Oh I have got some sheets i never thought about trying to printing it i got it for the kids to draw pics. I have used it in the oven with no problems. Heat it then once shrunk put heavy book on to keep flat until cooled.

Will have a go using the oven...it will at least save me from burning my fingers with the heat gun!

I remember Shrinkie Dinks - it's why I've bought the shrink plastic

I plan on shrinking it in my top oven because the main one is a fan oven!

Oh no...not brave enough to use the heat gun on it...far too much fiddling around.

Pop it in the oven and watch in amazement through the glass door!!!! Gives me a great incentive to keep my oven door clean too!
