Am thinking of making some doll clothes for my girls who are very into dolls at the moment. Any advice? Good patterns? Cheap place to buy fabric/trimmings? TIA!

We have some 14" and some 16". They are 5 and 3 so have to be easy to get on and off too!

Do you make matching clothes for your DD and her dolls? My grandma used to and I loved it. Had the best-dressed cabbage patch dolls of all my friends!

My mom has made them several doll quilts but she doesn't do clothes. I haven't tried doll clothes before and I'm not great with fiddly stuff but it can't be that hard, right?

I splashed on a paper pattern for baby dolls and have got lots of use out of it. Any scraps of fabric, particularly small patterns. Cast off kids clothes from jumble/car boot sales, patchwork fabrics (come in quarters).

There are loads of knitting and sewing patterns on ebay too.

Have to confess that I started sewing for my own dolls at about the age of 8! I love dressing dolls Blush. Sadly I only have boys and my nieces have all grown up Sad.

There is a really great book out called I Can Make Dolls' Clothes with lots of patterns that are so simple to make. Ive been making them with my daughter and we both love it! I got it from Amazon, it was only £8.
