Help! Want to make invitation cards with photo on front

Bat Mitzvah invitations, want fun (and reasonably cheap) invitations. Looking online the few available are abit solemn/boring.

So, we're making our own. Never tried this before, I've found tri fold aperture cards, size A6, to buy from craft shops. Have vague plan to make copies of DD's photo, stick the photo inside to show through the aperture, and glue back one of the outer folds to cover the back of the photo. So creating a bi fold card with photo on front showing through the aperture. And handwriting the invitation details inside the card.

Question is, will the aperture be on the middle fold!! Does anyone know the answer - and are they all the same?

And, anyone got any other suggestions - don't have a good enough printer to produce cards with photos onto high quality paper.

Thanks for any help!

We've just sent DDs birthday invitations using evite. They are really simple, it's free and you can keep track of who is coming.

The apeture should end up on the front. You put your photo in the middle & then fold the left hand bit of card so that it covers the back of the photo for neatness sake. You can then right on the inside as usual.

The aperture IS on the middle fold. I would use double sided tape around the aperture and then position the photo so it shows through the aperture. Then put more double sided tape at the top and bottom of the aperture panel and the edge nearest the right hand panel. Fold over the left hand panel and write in the middle.

Alternatively you could use regular A6 cards with a single fold and get copies of your chosen photo printed at a photo shop or even Asda. Stick these to the front with double sided tape and decorate. Photos look beautiful on a background on torn handmade paper with a couple of flat backed jewels. I buy mine at josyrose and stick them on with a tiny dab of pva.

Either way I would recommend using double sided tape to mount your photo. Wet glue will wrinkle the photo.
