Anyone used Stockmar or Chubbi Stumps wax crayons?

I'm keen to get some wax crayons for my LO. She's only 7 months so I need something non toxic just in case she puts it in her mouth. I've seen the bees wax crayons made by Stockmar which sound ideal but they are quite expensive, I think they're only available on line and I've never seen or used any. I remember using Chubbi stumps crayons when I was a child. Are these less safe for babies? I cant find a list of ingredients for Chubbi Stumps so does anyone knows what's in them?

We use Crayola which I think are the chubbi stumps ones. Not sure of the exact ingredients, but I have heard from various friends that they just go "straight through" if they are eaten! Hope this helps!

I use Crayon Rocks for DD. This is a USA website, I will try and find out where I bought them from in this country.

this is where I got them from but they appear to be out of stock at the moment Sad

Stockmar ones (rectangular ones in blue metal tin?) are great for slightly older ones but a bit chunky and oddly shaped for little hands.

crayon rocks here out of stock at the moment but back in stock soon - they are £7.95 a pack

The soy based Crayon Rocks look exactly the kind of thing I was after. Yes the wax blocks from Stockmar are a bit too big, although their crayons are just like Crayola size crayons I think. Those Crayon Rocks look as though they're a better shape and size for a baby though, so I'll order some. Thanks again.

They have some on ebay here

They look a very chokable shape and size for a 7 month old! It says not for under 3s.

Yes I know about the size and age spec. Elsewhere I've seen the Crayon Rocks size stated as aprox 2cm by 3cm though, which is quite large. She already has toys that size and is fine with those - although I obviously don't leave her unattended with anything small, just in case. Actually she has several toys which say they are for 12 months+ but are fine and a whole music set (tambourine, jingly bells, castanets, maracas, glockenspiel and stick, plus a recorder) which says age 3+ on it, but the only thing she can't use is the recorder, although she has just recently started making blowing sounds with her mouth, so I might show her that soon! I think common sense might have to be used with the crayons. I just wish I could find them in a shop in the UK so I could see them before buying. I'll have to order on line and save them for later use if they aren't suitable when they arrive.
