My dd loves painting and scribbling. I can tell she would love art and crafts but what would be suitable for a 21 month old?

I am not very arty myself, so advice welcome!

play doh, simple cooking (get everything weighed out during a nap and let her help with the stirring), glueing things - pritt stick (or Tesco's own!) and lots of easy to stick things (not glitter Grin )

If she's into scribbling make sure you get the crayola ultra washable felts Grin

oo crayola washable felts, must look them up. She is obsessed with scribbling and I have caught her trying to draw on my walls with chalk more than once!

Might try some simple glueing. Made the glitter mistake at christmas Grin

Make corn flour gloop. Mix it into a paste in a tray and it will run through fingers like liquid but you can grab it like dough. Fab for toddlers and easily rinsed off.

I do lots of gluing and painting is great if you get the stuff together first and wipes at the ready! Best things together are those stick on wiggly eyes, my dd will create all kinds of random art but when she sticks two eyes on she loves it ten times more! And suddenly you can start making characters etc. Have fun.

Jelly play - can't believe I foegot that one!

It's an idea that came courtesy of nursery but great fun when you're young!!

do you know a website where I can order things like wiggly eyes? I think even I would love that!

Try Wilkos or The Works for wiggly eyes. They are really good for cheap craft supplies.

Check out The Imagination Tree blog too. It's brilliant, she has two young children and does lots of fantastic arts and craft things with them. Very inspiring!

We also really like the Cbeebies Art magazine. Lots of ideas in there and you get a little pack of stuff (stickers, crayons etc) to use.

Cheap local shops - 99p shop, Homebargains, Wilkos.

If you prefer to spend more on the same stuff then Hobbycraft has it all.
