Need to make tie backs...

Ds is having a toy story themed bedroom. I have bought blue curtains with rockets and such like on them, but they didn't come with tie backs...

Any ideas of something simple that I could make, that would look cool?

TIA

I have no idea... What is the alternative? just let the curtains hang? Hmm

Well you could draw out a flat squished semi circle shape for a patern making sre its long enough to go around the curtains.

Cut out x4 of our fabric, sew right sides together, leaving a turning hole. Turn, top stitch and then sew on some D hooks?

Or get 3 blue scarfs and plait them for the same principle but little/no sewing?

I have made tie-backs for childrens' bedrooms using toys, this might work well depending on how busy your curtains are?

If you could find some small, soft toy story toys, you could sew them together 'holding hands', and then sew some ribbon onto each of the end figures. If you attach a hook to the window frame, you can tie the two ends of ribbon onto the hook. Does that make sense?

The second time I made these kind of tie-backs, I attached the toy to the ribbon using poppers, so that the toy (in this case a monkey) could be popped off and played with once my friend's little girl got big enough to want him.

That's a fab idea Mrs Pru.

I actually got some cheap plain blue ones today in Dunelm Mill, got some felt, am going to cut out flames and stitch them on. (curtains have rockets /planets etc)

Thanks
