I spent ages making two orders.I made sure they were posted out in plenty of time to reach their destination and used loads of Do not bend stickers on my very well packaged items.

One hasnt arrived....lost in transit, is all the PO can tell me and the other arrived so damaged that I have to make the cards all over again.....bloody Royal mail

Make sure that when you send cards, that you have lovingly made, that you get proof of postage....you can then claim when the items are lost or damaged in transit....Im just making my claim now.

Rant over!

for you too JM

It's not so much the money but also the love and care that you put in them too.

Hope it gets sorted.

bah!!

spookylips · 18/10/2005 17:26

again??!!

as they can be useless at times

gigglinggoblin · 18/10/2005 17:41

very annoying - they folded an envelope full of our photos in half despite it saying on the front PHOTOS DO NOT BEND. good new was dp just rang them to complain and we had a cheque for the full amount they cost us within a week

Two things sent out to people on here (one £10 worth of MN swap & 3 T shirts) got lost in the post. And something sent to DS never arrived.

Remember though proof of posting only lets you claim back postage costs - you need receipts for the contents if you want to claim for them too(which may be a problem with stuff you have made yourself

Thanks for the warning JM,it's terrible about all your lovely hard work.

zippitippitoes · 19/10/2005 14:33

Whizzz proof of posting doesn't let you claim postage cost only the market value of the contents up to 100 First Class Stamps equivalent, they exclude the postage from the compensation.

A letter from the intended recipient saying they paid ex amount and haven't received it should be sufficient

Whizzz · 19/10/2005 18:59

The form I have asks runs through all the bits & bobs about where posted & proof of posting but on the reverse then has a section for :
If you Want to Claim Compensation - asks for 'Market value or proof of purchase of the missing or damaged contents - Please provide written evidence of value'

I took it as meaning receipts for items if you wanted to claim for their loss.

zippitippitoes · 19/10/2005 19:08

"the written evidence of value" can be an email or letter from the person who should have received the parcel saying they paid you x amount for the goods

I've only claimed through the internet form which just says have you enclosed proof of value

I was really annoyed to discover that they don't repay postage.

Also ny biggest tip is go to the sorting office and 99.9% of the time the parcel will be there and they haven't put a note through the door.

Whizzz · 19/10/2005 19:14

Argh yes - but if you spent alomst £9 on a MN swap that cost £3.60 to post & hadn't kept all the various receipts & the person never got it - its not much use ! Grrrrrr
