I have tried a very patterned dress with a shirt under but it's not looking great - I want you to look at her and just know exactly, I am quite arty but struggling with this...can any of you creative ladies advise me?

If you want your DD to look like Lola, I would advise you to make her a similar hairstyle, a shirt or a jumper with the name Lola on it. Usually it is Charlie who has his name on his tops but here is an oportunity for your DD to wear a Lola's top.

You could maybe write 'lola' and some topsy turvy gramma silly sentence on the dress? Good luck, i like the idea of her going as Lola, it's good.

Add a bottle of pink milk?

Blue bows in her hair. Agree, easier if you can use transfers or fabric paint to do name on top like Charlie wears.

Other ideas to make it more like a costume-

-some rouge on cheeks (I know that Lola doesn't have pink cheeks, but would make her look like she's dressed up).

-if you're feeling really crafty, stiffen hem of dress with wire or something so it stands out a bit.

-props- bottle of pink milk?

blow up a picture of lolas face and print out, stick onto card and use like a mask. You could do it really oversized to look like a cartoon
