We want to make some invites using one of DD pictures. I have scanned it into the computer, bought postcard sized cards - BUT CAN'T PRINT THEM IN THE RIGHT SIZE!! Either they are too big, too small too.... or the b.... card slips and it prints them askew....

Of course I persuaded DH that I could do this simple task instead of paying the printer... ha ha ha ha.... do I give up?

Or can anybody help? (bearing in mind I'm not very techie)

Last time I amde anything like this (thank you cards), I found it very effective to print the pictures onto card / phtoto paper (your choice), cut them out in a luggage tag shape then fix to the card like that- I used a brad and a length of fible (textured wool, basically). It meant I could play with the card underneath as well, adding layers and stuff though you wouldn't need that.

Peachy,

Okay so I print onto card and then cut them out - yes? I had hoped to print on both sides though but perhaps I'll print front of card and then text for back on something else - cut out and glue on? Sounds plausible but time consuming (I promised to get them done this weekend... stupid me)....

What is a brad?

Printing on the back should be possible- change page size in your word processor to the size of your card. Takes a few trial usually.

A brad is one of the split pins you used as kids when making p-uppets etc, only they comein loads of designs these days from art shops. Tying it on with string etc wold work as well though.

try to print thubnails (says she) who went to boots, stuck memory card in and they printed loads of pics of DS about 3" & 3" and I used them instead. Go to Boots and stick your mem card in!

Think it cost about 3.00.

What program are you using to do it?

I've printed photos on regular paper (I used b & w) then mounted them on hand made paper torn by hand then mounted them onto the birth cards I'd already printed with details. Did a bit of faffing about with a gold pen and they looked great (WELL i THINK THEY DID(.
