Hi

If you put in fabric scraps or quilt squares etc in ebay you come up with lots of results some are very cheap. I am thinking of making a quilt by cutting up DDs babygros and t-shirts just need an iron on interface to stop the stretchiness - the interface is pretty cheap.

Croft Mill. Limited choice - they sell ends of lines and so on (the descriptions in the printed catalogue used to be very funny). But if they have what you want it is good value.

Thank you I capture and neversay. I am going to look at ebay and croft mill now. I am a complete craft beginner but thought I would have a go at making an applique picture for DS's room. I have quite a clear idea in my head - just not sure I can turn it into reality! Anyway you have both set me on the right track. May well be back for some more advice later on.
Good luck with you quilt Icapture-that sounds like a lovely way to use her clothes. I didn't know about the interface stopping stretchiness either- will come in useful.
Thanks again. Smile

I was about to tell you that Croft Mill was sadly no more - but I looked at your link and it has been resurrected! Yeah! Their prices don't look quite as good as I remember, but at least now you can see photos of the fabrics. I have piles of cheap fabric from Croft Mill that I still have to get around to using.....

Fabric Rehab do lovely little mini bundles of fabric off-cuts here(reasonably priced too).
I've bought lots from them in the past - to use for applique t-shirts.

I was just going to say FabricRehab - but lots of others are now doing the little scrap bundles too - seamstar [[saintsandpinners.co.uk saints and pinners] although they come in & out of stock all the time.

They are imo expensive for what are really just "scraps" but then you get lots of lovely designer fabrics that you would never be able to afford otherwisse!

I have also bought fat quarter bundles from here -[[http://www.craftsandquilts.net/fabric-packs-825-c.asp crafts and quilts}} great prices! again tthe stock varies and it doesn't look like they have many nice ones atm. Also they are 1/4 yards not metres so are smaller.

And ebay is excellent too!

and an excellent applique tutorial and free patterns here at [[http://www.dontlooknow.typepad.com/ dont look know}}

Do you have any of his old babygros? I know some people have made patchwork items from baby clothes as a memento- very special.
