I am in talks with a guy who wants to buy 20 of the thing I make. I usually charge £4 each but they only cost about £1 to make. They cost £1.30 each to post.
He wants to know my best price for 20 or the itmes with postage.

I am so new to this and wasn't expecting it to take off as it did. What would your advice be on pricing this order up?

You're not under any obligation to give a discount, because he's only trying to maximise his own profit. The cheaper he gets them off you, the more money he'll make iyswim.

If you want to do him a favour, you could say £3.90 on orders over 30...

Or be straight and say that £4 is your best price!

Oh, and parcel them up in the same box, that'll keep the postage down a bit Smile

It really depends on how you did your original pricing - I use the rule of three, a third on costs, a third on time and a third of profit. Assuming that you are charging your your P&P separately, consider a discount of 10 - 15% on orders of 20 - 50 and 20% at 50 - 100 and 25% over 100 items.

Then look at a cheaper method of P&P, check out other couriers and postal services.

Also check the other conditions of the sale, that he is not expecting sale or return.

And congratulations on your great sale
