Its amazing the reaction a bit of cotton can have .

Jayzmummy · 10/10/2005 09:32

Mrs F....you can try a piece of cotton fabric first before you buy this stuff. If you get a cotton handkerceif and use low tack tape or some pritt stick you can stick the cotton down to a piecce of A4 card. Then feed it through your printer....it should work fine.
If you print the design first on to the piece of card, then you can place the cotton over the design so you know it will be printed in the right place

wish I hadn't read this! I want all those fancy papers! Just need some inspiration now...

ScarySkribble · 10/10/2005 20:31

Jayz mummy have you actually tried that? Thats the kind of thing I do and end up forking out for a new printer .

You would have to cut the hem off the hanky i think as it is far to thick and unless stuck down all over I think it would be a mess, the feeder bit is quite sensitive. I tried to do envelopes and it sort of scraped ink accross the front.

Jayzmummy · 10/10/2005 20:52

I tried it ages ago and it was fine....I print on ribbons and binding all the time and have had no problems.
If you used a handkerchief you would need to remove any hem as you need a flat even surface.

ScarySkribble · 10/10/2005 22:16

I think you must havea different printer to me, mine would cry at the very sight of ribbon .
