Last weekend I made a bed for an Anthropomorphic teddy bear

Well, aparantly the bear wasn't happy without his own bed, he was getting too old to share a bed with DS (Do all kids think their teddies are actually real?)

DS pestered me for weeks to do this, so finally we made it, and it turned out to be a lot easier than I had imagined!

you can see the bed here if you ever have the urge to make one Grin

that is totally adorable

well done to you both

gecko is especially convinced that all her stuffed things are alive

I go along with it completely, its very fun and she says some crazy things about some of them

the other day her bear needed to go to nursery with her cause he had homework to hand in

and when she tried to drag a 4 foot (I kid you not) stuffed gcecko into my bed and I said no she said but mummy he's been to the toilet, he wont poo

she says random things about what they like and have been doing all the time cant remmeber the ones that have made me crease up with laughter

they always have to have seatbelts on in the car too

Lol, ds's teddy has a sleeping bag - but never uses it, as he always snuggles in with ds. And what do you mean, do all kids think their teddies are actually real? I think my teddy is real, and I'm 49.....

Great bed, though!

SoMuchToBits · 17/01/2011 21:55

Ah Trinity, ds's teddy has to have his seatbelt on in the car too....

overmydeadbody · 17/01/2011 22:05

Ah yes Trinity, DS's bear (and his cat) always have to have seat belts on too Grin

SoMuch lol, I was just never that imaginative as a kid, but I do love it that DS is, and do probably encourage it!

I made the bear some pyjamas out of the sleeves of DS's old pyjamas too, we don't want himgetting cold at night.

It's funny though, DS has hundreds of soft toys, but only a handful of them are real and important to him. God forbid we ever loose one of them.

My ted comes downstairs every day and talks to ds's ted. And my ted also frequently speaks to my sister's ted on the phone! They have their own voices and everything! Yes, ok I'm a bit nuts..... Blush

potplant · 17/01/2011 22:24

You are a loon but I love it.
The best I could do was a shoe box.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 18/01/2011 08:25

yes a few of mine are real too Blush

just a minute ago when we were upstairs I said to dd2 and gecko 'ok who has left Snaily on the floor, he's looking very sad'

snaily was mine that was then given to gecko and usually sleeps in her bed

they both rushed over to him and popped him into geckos bed and tucked him in

they reported back to e that he isn't sad now and has gone to sleep Grin

Course they're real - Toy Story is a documentary!

I regularly have an assortment of 'helpers' left for me on my desk (I work from home) as they 'get lonely' by themselves.

When DS left his teddy in a gift shop DH took an afternoon off work to go and get him back. I DS had a little cry when the lady in the sshop phoned to tell me she'd found him.

SoMuchToBits · 18/01/2011 11:47

And some of ds's Playmobil people are also completely real. We had a real crisis the year before last, when Norman the Foreman got left in the holiday cottage, and we didn't discover this until we were half way home. Ds and I were in tears. Dh, meanwhile just said "What are you so upset about? It's just a plastic figure, you can buy another one." Shock Fortunately when I e-mailed the cottage owner, she had found Norman, and posted him back to us. But it was a tense few days until he arrived safe and sound....

My MILs cat always texts to say he's OK when he's in the cat hotel cattery

overmydeadbody · 18/01/2011 16:36

Oh dear. I do worry for some of you.

OMDB I just got hooked on your blog Grin

It's funny how only some animals acquire characters, isn't it? DS has a few who have, and 100s who really haven't (although they all have names which he remembers). DD has Monkey. When DD left nursery the staff said they would miss Monkey too - and when Monkey hadn't been to preschool for a few days the TA asked after him (only to be told firmly that he had a cold and needed to stay in bed and his Granny was looking after him Grin). Monkey and DD both asked Father Christmas for scarves - Monkey had clearly been very good, as he got mittens too.

potplant - it's nice when shop staff understand, isn't it? we left a small rabbit on a shelf in Tesco once and the customer service lady called me specially to let me know he had been found and was safe and being looked after until we could pick him up.

Big Teddy had some nice new red dungarees for Christmas (and a blue t shirt and a gilet).

Tubby (my ted) had a football outfit.

Norman had a cup of tea (and some new Playmobil friends).
