what is a sizzix?

Having just ventured back into the world of card making, i decided to treat myself to a magazine and was astonished that all the things i do by hand like cutting for example is all done for you and u can get packs of pre cut things (or maybe i had not previously looked prperly and u al;ways could)

BUT what on earth is a sizzix? and what does it do?

Can I just ask...why is it called a crop then?

And...what would be the collective noun for cardmakers? A fiskars of cardmakers???

To add to this question, what is the difference between sizzix & the sidekick? Apart from the cost?

Its called a crop because you "crop" your cardstock and photos to fit!

To fit whatever space you want them to go in !

So you would go all the way to a crop to cut a card/photo. Why wouldn't you just do it at home?

Oh ok. So where are these crops (UCM imagining nicking someones sizzix dies for afternoon)?
