Would absolutely LOVE to make some of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.kid-craft-project.com/wp-content/gallery/teacup_candle/teacup_candle2.jpg&imgrefurl=www.kid-craft-project.com/2009/11/lovely-teacup-candles/&usg=__SR3ZXlI_nl36RMQLgdRbuLsf8FE=&h=468&w=500&sz=161&hl=en&start=0&sig2=Va_B5x7h9NrNGEXNYCZZrA&zoom=1&tbnid=TncXjAS3Jol6xM:&tbnh=164&tbnw=171&ei=BbrfTOv_HMqwhAee6vzWDA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcandle%2Bteacup%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D653%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=362&vpy=260&dur=8109&hovh=217&hovw=232&tx=163&ty=57&oei=BbrfTOv_HMqwhAee6vzWDA&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0these" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.kid-craft-project.com/wp-content/gallery/teacup_candle/teacup_candle2.jpg&imgrefurl=www.kid-craft-project.com/2009/11/lovely-teacup-candles/&usg=__SR3ZXlI_nl36RMQLgdRbuLsf8FE=&h=468&w=500&sz=161&hl=en&start=0&sig2=Va_B5x7h9NrNGEXNYCZZrA&zoom=1&tbnid=TncXjAS3Jol6xM:&tbnh=164&tbnw=171&ei=BbrfTOv_HMqwhAee6vzWDA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcandle%2Bteacup%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D653%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=362&vpy=260&dur=8109&hovh=217&hovw=232&tx=163&ty=57&oei=BbrfTOv_HMqwhAee6vzWDA&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0these for christmas gifts but no idea how to go about it!

Thats where you lot come in :o

Is it really expensive, and therefore cheaper to spend £10 on a ready made one?!

TIA

MilkNoSugarPlease · 14/11/2010 17:59

There is a MAHOOOSIVE candle making thread on here if you just go back a page or two.

TeeBee · 14/11/2010 20:58

Oh goodness, I didn't find it hard work at all. I didn't grate my wax and they came out great. I think financially, only worth doing if you are making a batch of them. You need wax, containers, scent, colour flakes, thermometer. I have made 8 today, they look gorgeous. Made mine in Bonne Maman jam jars and put fabric over the top so they look like homemade jam.

MilkNoSugarPlease · 14/11/2010 21:42

I only want to make 3!

Do you think it's not worth it for just 3?

:) thanks

Probably not, from a cost-wise point of view. Have you got birthdays coming up? But I'm doing some for teachers and our neighbours, who we always spend at least a fiver each on. And I have a few birthdays in December and January, so have done those as well. So quickly makes it worthwhile.

Ihopeyoudance · 15/11/2010 16:06

Actually it's easy peasy and the raw materials will keep for ages. If you can afford the initial outlay (£30 maybe?) to buy in bulk you could be making them whenever a special occasion comes up and they'd work out cheaply overall. I totally recommend the HUGE thread on candlemaking which was started by Lauriefairycake, I think.

Lauriefairycake's infamous thread is here
