Need a website for making paper cut shapes, decorations from coloured paper

I bought assorted coloured paper cards. I would like to find websites where I could find images or stensils of animals, shapes, snowflakes, christmas decorations etc. Thank you!
P.S. We want to decorate a room. Has anyone tried making a paper ball?

Like these? We've made these before and they turned out gorgeous. Lots of compliments.

Stencils - just enlarge and print - here, here, and here

If you have lots of money to spend and lots of small children, I would recommend one of these, personal electronic cutters. You can but lots of different cartridges for them - love mine and use it loads.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you cheekyweebesom. Those pom-poms are so cute! I will try making them; just need to buy tissue paper. Thanks for the stensils as well. No money for the electronic cutters.

I would love to buy a set of paper punches. Have not found them yet.

I have tried kirigami from soft colouring paper and I really like it. Here is the link www.origami-resource-center.com/kirigami-for-kids.html

I would like to make this www.dotcomgiftshop.com/pink-honeycomb-paper-ball, a honeycomb ball

Oooh those links are fab Octavia09 - I love those honeycomb ones! Are you in Australia then? The Martha Stewart tissue paper ones were supersimple and dead quick to make but really effective made in different sizes. Keep your eyes peeled on ebay - they sometimes have Cricuts. If I come across any others you might like, I'll post them here. Bet your room will look gorgeous!

Maybe not quite what you're after but a selection of paper based ideas

Danish Christmas Hearts

3d Bascetta stars Loads of video tutorials online if you google the name

Origami wreaths

Kusudama flowers/balls are actually much easier to make than they look, so don't be put off. My top tip is use paperclips to glue together so you're not waiting for glue to dry all the time.

Paper snowflakes are another thing that look stunning imo, but very straightforward

Thank you cheekyweebesom. I like honeycombs too but I have not found instructions with pictures. My son's room is going to be gorgeous once I start making something Blush. I have to make sure that the younger one does not damage our paper art. Today he took my kirigami flower and made it into tiny peaces.

Tizwozliz, you must have so much patience to make those things! I like Danish hearts. I will try making them but wonder whether I should use a colouring card or something more durable.

Is this your blog? I like that dress. Gorgeous patterns.

Yes, that is my blog.

For the hearts I make I use fairly heavyweight paper.

Normal printer paper is around 80 gsm, card is around 240 and I use paper that's around 120 gsm. I think that's the best sort of weight for compromise between durability and ease of weaving.

Octavia09 · 05/11/2010 22:01

I have never heard of Danish hearts before. They are gorgeous.
