I am looking for a funky looking bag to store my wool, needles, material little bits etc.... Gotta to be biggish.

Any ideas on where to find one? Or should I make my own???

Bags are nice but I prefer boxes as I'm a bit anal they look neater when dumped in the inevitable corner.

DD has just bought a large lidded box like this for her knitting stuff and covered it with leftover tiger print wallpaper that she used as a feature around her bedroom window Grin.

Ummm a box.... Well it would fit nicely in that alcove next to chimney hidden by the settee.. Ummmmm ... Nice idea....

Have a look on e-bay, search 'knitting bag'. Picked out a couple I think are fun here and here but there lots to suit all tastes.(my taste is quite oddGrin)

But also think it would be a nice thing to make Smile

I like the first one alot... The second one cheered me up..

Love your taste. Do you do lots of creative stuff? Is it nice and quirky?

Saw a blog by some creative type who crocheted bags and I thought I might try one... But forgot what she's called. Bah.

Mackinac Moon have some fab ones. Couldn't justify buying one for myself but bought one for Mum last Christmas. She hasn't used it Hmm

To be honest I find a bag is useful for one project on-the-go, I have the sort that sit on legs and a multitude of other tote bags (I like the pvc shoppers from Paperchase). But for all the other gubbins , well I have masses but a tall jar is good for needles, wool in clear plastic bags in a storage box, patterns are kept in magazine files, little drawers for buttons and bits and pieces. Knitting is essentially a portable craft and why would you carry around a load of stuff you aren't using on the current project?

Etsy have some great knitting bags - I love this one and this one (and there's some amazing yarn on there too, like this

I have a selection of wicker hampers, like picnic baskets with lids that buckle closed to keep my wool in. I then have some small cotton tote bags for my projects. I'm working on a large crochet blanket and I'm using a really large cotton shopper style bag that's cheap and easy. And a large pencil case for my hooks.

I have totes for each project which are usually hung on the coat rack (much to DH's disgust!). Patterns are in a lever arch file and needles are in a needle case and they're both stored on a bookshelf with my craft books. The majority of my stash is in a clothes storer from ikea and under the bed and the material is in an old sea chest which was my Grandma's.
