DS risk much higher with 2nd pregnancy - anyone else?

I have a gorgeous ds1 aged 19 months who had a private combined test risk of 12,444. I've just had the result back for my current pregnancy done via the NHS this time. The risk was quoted as 1 in 850 - unfortunately the results were generated based on a wrong ethnic origin. I phoned the screening service on Friday and got a recalculated risk verbally of 1 in 1700. Certainly not nearly as worrying as some of OPs on similar threads. My risk this time is high due to high bHCG and low PAPP-A, NT thickness was good. I am worried my results may be statistically low risk at population level but in fact represent a high risk to me as an individual - apparently protein levels in any given woman tend to follow in subsequent pregnancies. Has anyone else had vastly different risks quoted for different pregnancies? Any other thoughts?

Hollie this is an old thread but hopefully I can reassure you. My results with my DS were 1 in over 10,000 (I can’t remember exactly but I think it was between 10,000 and 15,000), and with my second baby just 3 years later it was 1 in 1922. I also worried about such a big difference, but I really regret spending even a minute worrying.... she’s almost 1 now and no issues at all. I really regret spending my pregnancy worrying. Please accept you’re low risk and enjoy this precious time!

I was one in 1700 for my first at 33, then with my second at 34/35 I was one in 130! We did the cvs and he was fine. But am worried what my tests will show at 39 (nearly 40) for number 3 when we fall pregnant.

Hollie, I’m the same worried about how results can be so different! My DDs risk was 1:21,000 vs this pregnancy with is 1:1392.

I wish I could stop worrying about it and don’t know whether to ask the MWs their thoughts? Xx

My risk was 1 in 380 for DS1 two years ago
Currently pregnant with DS2 and results are 1 in 12500. That’s with a higher BMI and 2 year older.

Just another example that the results can be vastly different between pregnancies. I wasn’t worried the first time as I had nothing to compare to and it seemed low enough at the time not to worry.
