High risk due to previous IUGR

I'm pregnant with baby #4 (2 current living children). My previous pregnancy was diagnosed as IUGR, although I do feel it wasn't quite correct. He was induced at 36 weeks and weighed 6.0lbs, but on his notes it says he was on the 2nd centile. I did bring this up with my midwife, but she said it's up for the consultant to decide what happens. I'm currently around 3 months, although I haven't had my first scan yet but it's booked for in a few weeks time, I assume due to severe staff shortages. She said I will be considered high risk due to previous IUGR on my record. I'm just curious as to if all is well with my current pregnancy, will I be signed off eventually, or will they keep me under consultant led care? Desperate for a spontaneous and unmedicted birth this time round, but obviously keeping in mind that may not be possible. My midwife wasn't able to answer my questions, so looking to hear from those who have had a previous IUGR and the next pregnancy/pregnancies have been normal.

I'm currently 37 weeks with my second, first was IUGR (4lb15 at 36 weeks, unplanned CS). I was told at my booking appointment that I'd have extra scans at 28,32,36 weeks.
Baby was small at 28 weeks but above the 10th centile at 32 and 36 so I'm headed for a Plan A of spontaneous VBAC.

Have they spoken about extra scans at all? In my maternity notes there's a sort of flow chart that puts you back at "low risk - expectant management" if baby measures above the 10th centile

Both my girls were IUGR, 2.225kg and 2kg both at 37 weeks exactly.

I had extra scans from 28 weeks with my youngest. If baby is growing normally you won’t be induced they won’t do anything more than the extra scans. My youngest was measuring 33 weeks at 36 weeks so I had an urgent induction at 37 weeks exactly.I was heavily monitored once they realised baby wasn’t growing properly. I think around 36 weeks I had to go in daily for monitoring.

Hi ,
Both my boys were IUGR due to placental insufficiency. They sent the placenta to find the cause , but there was no explanation
1.52 at 36 weeks and 2.35 at 37 weeks
My second pregnancy was considered high risk was on baby asprin until 35 weeks
i started to show high resistance on the UMblical cords from 30 weeks on 2nd one and delivered exactLy at 37 weeks via c section
i would say if your growth scans at 28 , 32 weeks are normal , and baby is over the 10th be told you should be signed off the monitoring and should be allowed to chose an unmedicated birth.

good luck with your pregnancy, hope you have a different experience this time around.

If the reason for your IUGR was placenta failing , I have heard Larginine supplements and beet juice should help with placenta function

Is 6lb at 36 weeks really IUGR?! I would dismiss that as nonsense frankly (unless there were concerns around placenta or additional missing info here). DD was 6lb5 at 37 weeks exactly and on the 40th centile. In your shoes I would politely but firmly state that I would accept a growth scan at 34 weeks and take it from there. I find once talk of induction starts early they never take their foot off the pedal.

I don't think I can be, surely?? My baby was 6.0lb at 41 weeks and wasn't considered IUGR.
