Hello
i went for my 12 week scan where I was advised straight away that baby had fluid around the head, back and stomach.
I was also advised that I was only measuring at 11+1 day which confused me a lot.
Yesterday I went for my CVS where I should get the results tomorrow or Friday.
im wondering if anyone has had similar and what the outcome was?

I will tell you my story, however I do not wish for it to give you false hope, until the CVS results come back, we don’t know what your outcome will be.

I had similar in that baby had fluid all around his head and neck - also had a cvs and a high chance of DS, Edward’s and Pataus. CVS came back clear and 6 month old perfectly healthy son is currently snoozing in my arms.

Sending you love, I was in your shoes 12 months ago and remember it like it was yesterday. Please look after yourself x

I have just gone through something similar. Went for 12 week scan (12+5) baby measured as expected size wise for date. However there was a high nuchal translucency measurement (11.2 mm) and fluid building on the chest and abdomen.

We were told the likelihood of chromosomal abnormality and that the pregnancy would not develop due to this fluid increasing all the time. Over the following days scans showed the fluid increasing as they warned which was a risk to my health for delivery when the pregnancy did finally miscarry naturally (or if we delayed the decision).

We took the difficult decision to be induced and ended the pregnancy at 13+2 weeks medically. This has meant that genetic testing can be done (we opted not to have an autopsy).

We never thought we would be those parents. We got to see and hold them, the medical staff were so supportive and compassionate and helped us organise cremation, memorial etc.

it’s a long wait for the results of the testing but hopefully it will bring some closure for us.

I hope you have a better outcome and give you strength to get through it no matter what happens.
