Would you bother going for the NIPT with these results

Hi I'm 36 & this is my 6th pregnancy but I only have one living child.
I'm currently coming up to 19weeks in this pregnancy & it's the furthest I've gotten so I'm extremely grateful.

My 12weeks NT results were
NT: 1.6mm and 1 in 10,000 for DS & nhs said we won't be needing to offer any more tests.
I'm considering paying £400 for a private NIPT test, it's a lot of money for me to find but seriously considering getting it due to my anxiety. Would you bother if you had my results ?
Partner thinks I shouldn't bother if nhs don't want to do anymore testing & it be wasting money.

As I suffer with chronic anxiety and sometimes I just can't feel happy in my pregnancy. I've been referred to Perinatal health so waiting on that too. I'm also waiting nervously on my 20wk scan too so I would probably get the NIPT after that I don't know!!
Thankyou for reading
Xx

you must be coming close to your anomaly scan? I’m so sorry to hear of your losses, had you ever gone this far in pregnancy previously and then had a miscarriage?
If you are close to anomaly scan, the perhaps wait until after that to decide on NIPT. Also I would factor in what you would do if Nift flagged problems. If you would terminate in that case then I would go for it.

Also, your current results look very promising

Hey OP. I’m currently 29+4. I had the NIPT as my original bloods come back as 1 in 137 change of my baby have Down syndrome, Pateus or Edwards. They only offer it on NHS if your chances are 1 in 500 or less. Your results are so far out of that bracket. I also have anxiety and it won’t stop there, as I said I’m 29+4 and my anxiety has just gotten worse throughout the pregnancy. They scan features at the 20 week anomaly scan so they’ll tell you whether anything doesn’t look ‘normal’ so to speak. Good luck! X

Oh I know. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on triage during my pregnancy 🫣 x

I had the same NT result and similar age. I didn't feel the need to get the NIPT.

As a PP said, you're coming up to your anomaly scan so you'd likely have the scan at the same time / before you receive the results. The anomaly scan is fairly detailed - will that provide you with comfort?

I also think it's worth thinking about what you would do if your results came back high. If you'd continue with the pregnancy then there isn't much value to having the NIPT.

I'm steering on the side of not having the NIPT done. From what others have said and what I've researched and I Can't afford it anyway.
As stated I suffer with chronic anxiety and it's been the same all the way in the pregnancy and as I've got the 20 week scan approaching it's been double the amount of anxiety more than normal x thanks for everyone's reassurance and support xx
