8.1 NT, no physical abnormalities, lots of excess fluid at 13 weeks

Looking for success stories to keep me going till our CVS results get back next week.

I'm 42
13 weeks pregnant
8.1 NT result as well as fluid around a lot of baby including around the heart and lungs.

On a positive note, the doctor has said there doesn't appear to be any physical abnormalities so she's tentatively ruled out T18 and T21 but cannot be 100% until the CVS results are back.
Baby is also super active on scans, not lethargic at all.

She has used words like 'severe' and 'concerning' a lot.

I got the impression she thinks Turners is the most likely outcome.

Can anyone boost me up by sharing their positive stories with similar results?
It would be much appreciated

Not me but friends in-laws. Baby is 1 and gorgeous. Turners was their outcome and they felt blessed as it was the better outcome of the other scenarios/chromosomal things that were being batted about.

Thanks @Arthursmom,
I've read some really positive cases of Turners so it's making me feel quite optimistic.

An update for anyone looking in the future.

We've been told baby has Down Syndrome. And he's a boy.

Truely devastated and now considering our next steps forward.

We had similar years ago, didn't get tested but were very high for downs and they wouldn't offer us the blood test only amnio, we chose not to get tested further and we never had DC 2 tested.

We felt very pressured to get tested, which would invariably lead to the what next question? Our concern was the possible heart complications associated with downs.... The heart looked good so we marched on with pregnancy as i was late 30s, had a history of pregnancy loss and so this possibly our only shot of building a family and it had taken 6 yrs to get to this point.

No one can tell you what is the best, but I knew I would manage the hand dealt to me, dc wasn't downs but he is autistic, which brings it's own set of challenges. Many downs adults can now live full and independent lives and no child is perfect, but you know your limits best and good luck with whatever you chose .

@ovulationleavesmetired I’s so sorry. That must be quite a shock and a very different diagnosis than you were expecting/ prepared for. I hope you have all the support you need to help you decide next steps. Whatever that step may be, it will be a brave one. I’m sorry you are going through this.

I'm really sorry this has happened to you. We had a very active baby on the scan and a NT of 8-8.5mm. We left the scan feeling that whatever was wrong, it was unlikely to have a good outcome. I researched and convinced myself it was Turners due to the high NT, but it turned out to be T18 - we had a NIPT as there was a two week wait for an appt for a CVS. The NIPT came back high risk for T18 and the post mortem following a TFMR confirmed it.

If you have any questions just let me know.
