Lost quadruple bloods and NIPT testing advice? Apologies for the long post.

Hi everyone, looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I couldn't have the screening at my 12 week scan due to the way the baby was lying so I was sent for quadruple screening instead. After a few mix ups from the community midwifes I finally had it at 16weeks.

The results were never updated on my badger notes and after asking on multiple times I was assured that if anything was wrong I would have been informed and not to worry.

Fast forward a few weeks and I just had a funny feeling so decided to push for my results , to be told that my blood results were lost and never made it to the lab.

I'm now over 24weeks so the quadruple test is not an option anymore however they have offered me the NIPT on the NHS due to their mix up.

Has anyone had the NIPT done at this point? They have advised that termination wouldn't be an option at this stage in pregnancy which I understand but I think I still would like it done so we know what to prepare for. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Would I be better not knowing?

Also I find it shocking how many times I was assured that it was low risk as I hadn't been contacted, nobody was willing to look into it until I pushed. How many other people has this happened to that just aren't aware?

Hello. Not sure where you are but I was told that a termination could happen at any point with good reason, by my screening midwife. I’m on some private forums for women who have had tfmr and unfortunately some of them have had late diagnosis and terminated at 37 weeks.

I am sorry you are going through this, I hope you have a good outcome. Did you have a good anomaly scan at 20 weeks?

Hi, I'm Scotland but was advised that tfmr wouldn't be an option if the NIPT was to come back with a high result so that's interesting to know other people have been advised differently.

My 20week scan was absolutely fine with nothing abnormal being picked up. I had the blood test done on Monday and they said it would take a week to hear back so we are just waiting now.

I know the chances are everything will come back okay but I wonder how many other people are in this situation without even realising, I was advised on multiple occasions that if I hadn't heard anything within two weeks it was a low result and that badger notes just hadn't been updated yet.
