Hi ladies,
I am 18 weeks pregnant with my third child. I recently had a quadruple screening test as baby's position at the 12 week scan didn't allow for them to do the nuchal test. The results came back as very high risk for Down's Syndrome (1 in 3). After talking things through with the foetal medicine team, we opted to have an amniocentesis, which we had today.
This pregnancy has been fraught with complications. We had a subchorionic hematoma throughout the first trimester. That was gone by 12 week scan and we were starting to feel more reassured but now there is this.
I am very aware that the quad is not the most sensitive test and its just a screen. Just concerned given how high the risk has come back as. I'm 38, no previous complications in past pregnancies, don't smoke, no family history of chromosomal abnormalities.
Has anyone had experience of having such a high risk result and then gone on to have a normal amniocentesis?
Thanks x
