Good evening
get the feeling this isn’t going to be an easy pregnancy. Although am already 20 weeks and so far physical symptoms have not been too bad.
so today whilst I was working I received a call from screening team regarding the harmony test (getting it booked) this is after having 1:140 result on the origanal test. She then went on to say that I needed to be seen by consultant due to letz procedure I had two years ago. This is all booked for Thursday. But am now panicking over what are the implications of this. So for anybody that has had the letz procedure and gotten pregnant after wards have there been many complications, what can I do to help my situation, I wanna hear the good the bad and th ugly as such so I can try and prepare myself for what could be ahead.
thank you in advance

I have had 2 pregnancies since lletz. The first I had an appointment at PREMs prevention where they did a scan and some swabs. They were happy with my cervix and I was discharged from that clinic. Second time was a different hospital and they didn’t have my notes so said they wouldn’t see me unless I called my old hospital to show at least a certain amount had been removed to qualify me. They advised me not to bother as the risk is very low.

My babies were born at 40+1 and 40+6 with no issues relating to this procedure. Good luck with your pregnancy

Yes. Two pregnancies. No problems.

Hello! I had a Lletz in 2020 and I am 18 weeks pregnant.
Just like you, they offered me consultant appointments and I was really scared but when you think about it, this is actually a good thing as it increases the chances to find any issue very early :-)

In my case, I had a first scan and some swabs at 14 weeks where they told me my cervix was a bit short (3cm) but not short enough to worry (<2.5cm). I then had another scan at 16 weeks where it was stable, and I have my next scan next week at 19 weeks.

The consultant was very reassuring, telling me that this is for prevention, and if my cervix shorten, there are things they can do, like giving a progesterone supplement, or doing a stitch.

The little bonus is that despite these scans being internal, my consultant always does a quick abdominal scan too to show us the baby, which is nice. From what I read, most consultants do this so if it makes you feel better, maybe think of it as an additional way to see your baby?

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Currently 35 weeks pregnant and had a lletz and 2 biopsies. I had a couple of internal scans to measure length of cervix but all was fine and no further treatment was needed.
Wishing you lots of luck xxx
