Ventriculomegaly found on 26 week scan, help!

So I had a 4D scan this morning, I'm 26 weeks, they have referred me for a follow up scan with the NHS because of this
'the posterior horn of the left cerebral ventricle measures 12.6mm. This value is above the upper limit of normal'

The sonographer said the normal measurement is 10mm, he wasnt massively concerned and said it could be nothing but was concerned enough to make a refferal obviously, i have to wait untill Monday now to have a detailed scan with the hospital, I'm so worried, has anyone heard of this?

I'm sorry I don't have much to help, but am going through something similar (another brain anomaly, absent septum pellucidum) and it is awful, I am really sorry you are going through it as well. The waiting is horrible too.
In my case, they are referring for an MRI, and also an amnio (though I am a bit earlier so not sure it would be the same later as I think there is less DNA as you progress and more risky) and infection test to see if there is an underlying genetic or other cause that would help diagnose. But I gather the MRI is the main one and that gets more accurate the later you are.
So I am sure there are similar steps for you and they will explain it further at your next appointment, but I know that doesn't help much now.
I think when I was researching (unsuccessfully) about mine, I saw some threads here about enlarged ventricles (including ones that turned out fine), so I guess it might be worth a search to see if there are any that are similar to yours.
Good luck with this and take care x

I'm not sure it's the same thing, but the measurements are similar. My DS, now 15, had slightly enlarged ventricles on his 20 week scan. The guidelines had recently reduced by a few mm, and a few months earlier it wouldn't even have triggered any concern. I had to have a number of scans every few weeks to check the ventricles didn't continue to grow.
He did have a big head on birth, still does, and had to have an MRI at 6 months old just to check there were no issues. Everything is fine. He struggled getting children's hats to fit well, but the consultant measured both my mine and DH heads, which are apparently big and so it's probably just hereditary!!

I hope it all works out well for you, too. It's so hard not to worry all the time, but it can be fine. If the consultant isn't too worried, that's definitely a good sign. Take care of yourself.

Hi, hope all is well! Just wondering how it turned out/how things are going? I’m currently 28w pregnant in a similar situation xx

I have a 9 year old son who has ventriculomegaly. He has moderate learning difficulties and is an absolute joy.
