CVS tomorrow

I've just been told that I should have a CVS done (tomorrow morning!) to rule out chromosonal probs as my risk has come back as 1/43. (I'm in France where they recommend CVS above 1/50.) The NT was fine and I understand this js almost purely because of my age (I'm 41). My HCG is also fairly high I think but it's been high in all my pregnancies (this is my third). I'm going to have the procedure as DH very much wants to be sure but I have been longing for this third baby for years and I do feel very anxious about the (small I know) risk of miscarriage. Could anyone who's had one of these tell me what it's like? I'm at one of the best if not the best children's/maternity hospital in Paris so I'm sure I'm in good hands but it's still quite upsetting.

I had a CVS at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London at 13 weeks. It was more uncomfortable than anything. The doctor injected 2 lots of anaesthetic so my stomach was numb before carrying out the procedure. I was lying flat on my back so couldn't see what she was doing but after the anaesthetic she then did the procedure and all I felt was the pressure of her pushing the bigger needle into my stomach - no pain. From the point at which she inserted the first anaesthetic to her finishing the procedure it literally took about 90 seconds so was done and dusted ever so quickly.

I had no pain or discomfort afterwards but I did feel a little faint (but that could have been because it was a hot day!).

I hope it goes well for you and is over as quickly as mine was! Thanks

Thanks @t00tsie that's reassuring that it was so quick. I am really nervous about it but at least it will be over soon.
