Screening results - where to find normal ranges

Hi, hope everyone is good. My screening came back, low risk but I only just missed being high risk for Down’s syndrome. Called the hospital and they couldn’t see anything out the ordinary in my results so I’m a bit confused why I’m much higher than expected, I’m 33

Does anyone know where I can find info on what the normal ranges are for what’s on the report - eg NT, HCG, what conc and Cor MoM means

I’m getting frustrated at not being able to find this info anywhere.

I’m not massively worried but would just like to know...feels pointless to get the results with no supporting info

Thanks in advance 😊

Anything under 3.5mm for the NT is considered 'normal', although I believe 3 - 3.5mm is the upper end.

For both Papp a and hcg, 1 MoM (multiple of the median) is 'normal'. Regarding markers for Down syndrome, the Hcg is usually high (more than 1 by quite a bit) and the Papp a is usually low (less then 1 by quite a bit), the NT is usually high too.

Hope that made sense!

Thanks, yes it does make sense to me now....as I’m slightly over or under on the MoM it effects the rating. So if I was 1 for all the MoM then I guess my results would come out more inline with my age group.

Thanks!

@R1cciteddy I was in a similar position. Low risk but only just for downs. What was your NT measurement?

R1cciteddy · 29/01/2021 17:39

My NT was 2mm which I believe is okay.(1.86 MoM) My hcg was 1.86 MoM and Pappa-a 0.71 MoM

Edwards and Patau’s extremely low risk at
