10 week blood tests

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out with this. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and called my chosen hospital last week to make my booking in appointment. I have received the letter today and they have given me an appointment for when I'll be 10+4 weeks pregnant. After reading the leaflet that came with it it states that the blood tests for sickle cell and thalassemia should be done before 10 weeks. Does anyone know if it makes a huge difference having this done 4 days later? I have tried to call the antenal clinic but cannot get through. Many thanks in advance

It is advised to get these tests done before 10 weeks in case it is found that the woman has an unusual type of haemoglobin. If so, it would then be suggested that the baby’s father is tested also. Having the test at 10+4 is not idea and is outside the national target time, but in reality it is not a huge issue.
