Low Papp

I’ve just had a call from the hospital to say I have low Papp results meaning I could have a small baby.
I’ve been booked in for an extra growth scan at 36 weeks and now worried. Not worried if I have to be induced earlier but I’m now worried about the placenta not doing its job, failing and having a stillborn. Please can someone reassure me? Has anyone else had these results? :(

And yes I'm going to be induced at 40 weeks, only because I'll be 40 at term (by 3 weeks!!)

@liveforholidays that good that baby has been following the same percentile since 28 weeks and that shows that they are growing fine.
They have told me that I will be induced at 40weeks or just before too!

Hi all,
Call with consultant was amazing! We were on the phone for about half an hour and she answered every question honestly and nothing sounded bad at all. She’s really put me at ease. I think she could sense the worry in me though and offered me an appointment to meet and discuss with someone after my 20 week scan incase I had any other questions.
(My biggest worry is stillbirth or not finding a heartbeat at 20 week scan.)
At the end, I asked... if you were in my shoes would you continue to buy things and get ready for the baby? (This is my first so have nothing) and she said ‘absolutely, put it this way. I’m 26 weeks pregnant and not worried at all!’ It’s a lot more common that we think.
I felt so much better after speaking to her. I’m taking things in stages, striving to get to 20 weeks and hope all is ok, then next stage 28,32,36 weeks etc. It’s keeping me sane until I’m told otherwise Smile xx

@FloatingElephant that’s really reassuring and you must feel much better now. I have to say that my consultant and midwife haven’t ever seemed remotely worried (and my level is very very low) I think it’s one of those things.
If you are a natural worrier like me then there is is always going to be something to get worked up about. I stupidly looked up my baby’s leg lengths last night even after the consultant and midwife reassured me yesterday that baby is growing perfectly. They plotted the legs closer the bottom line but still in between the middle and lower line and google comes up with all sorts of things. I am just going to try and relax and trust the professionals otherwise I am going to spend the next 4 weeks torturing myself until my next scan. We can do this and our baby’s will be fine xx

Absolutely. I’m seeing the midwife on Friday so looking forward to hearing her opinion or whether she is worried. I’m hoping she will use doppler so I can hear a heartbeat and know everything is still ok. Honestly though, I still worry but don’t worry half as much as I did when I first found out. I’m also going to book a private scan, again for reassurance. I have certainly learnt to stop googling. It can be your best friend at times and your worst enemy at other times. Listen to the experts - they know exactly what they are talking about :) xx
