Early pregnancy scan not gone well

I have one son, who is 2 years old. However I have had 7 miscarriages in 4 years. 4 of which are in the last 12 ish months. I never get symptoms or past 10 weeks.

I'm pregnant again and have got symptoms galore. It feels different to the others I can't explain it.

I should be 6+1 today and I had an internal ultrasound but there was no sac. The walls are thickening nicely but no sac.

The radiographer and midwife both said let's do another scan next week it may just be too early.

Honestly I'm falling apart. I don't see how this can end in anyway except badly.

Has anyone been in this situation? Any words of advice/wisdom/commiserations?

Hi OP I haven't had this before or have any advice but didn't want to read and run. Plus I hope this bumps the post for you, so more people see it. Wishing everything to be okay for you 🙏💖

@WatchOutLurkerAbout you have had a very hard time with so many losses. I can really understand why you feel so negative.
Are you in the UK? Have you had any investigations done about your many losses?
At 6 weeks or so it can be really hard to see anything on a scan and it is interesting that you feel very different this time. I think this week it is justified to try to stay optimistic. A week is a long time at this stage of pregnancy.
Fingers and toes crossed for you, & wishing you strength xx

Thanks guys I appreciate you posting. I've ended up staying off work today because I can't keep it together. Everything I've read said that there should at minimum be a sac so I just don't see how I expect anything else

I am under a fertility clinic but they have essentially said yes I need medication and support but they won't do it until my BMI is under 30 so just told me to go away and come back when I can keep it under 30 for at least two months.

Where did you have the scan done - was it in an NHS early pregnancy unit? Did you have hormone levels checked at the time of the scan?
I know it feels really harsh to say BMI has to be under 30, but you are much more likely to have a successful and safe pregnancy if your BMI is lower. How much do you need to lose?
Happy for you to PM if you prefer as these are very personal questions x

It was the NHS antenatal clinic at my local hospital I was scanned at, they sent me an appointment due to my history and I saw a midwife afterwards. I asked if they were taking bloods to do my HCG but they kept skimming over it. They've taken bloods to look at lupus and a few other conditions which could make my blood thick? Tbh although they didn't say it the way they were acting I'm pretty sure they're not expecting a good outcome. Even if it took 2 weeks to implant something would have shown up at 27dpo surely?

I know BMI is a factor, I also know it's not the be all and end all and it's very subjective depending on which doctor or clinic you attend. The fact that they said not to "bother" taking aspirin as it won't make a difference and the fact that they were so dismissive of trying anything because of my BMI is what upsets me. I am fit, I walk miles every day with my dogs I have a two year old I run around after. Weight is not always the final say.

I am surprised they didn’t do HCG because if you have a positive urine pregnancy test but they can’t see a sac this is a “pregnancy of unknown location” until proved otherwise. If this is a general antenatal clinic I would be inclined to ask if there is a specific early pregnancy clinic where you can be seen
